We own a big, hairy, outdoor brute of a dog. How about you? Is your dog itching, scratching and stinking beyond belief? Ours isn’t too stinky, but he sure is dirty, and itchy. I’ve just heard of an all natural dog shampoo from Dinovite that looks absolutely wonderful! It really is incredibly natural - as folks with a background in organic farming we’ve seen a lot of ‘natural’ products that are anything but that, but this ingredient list is fabulous. Among it’s many virtues, the shampo

There’s been a fair bit in the news about vast poppy fields in Afghanistan, but if you think most of the world’s opiates come from the Middle East you’re around 10,000kms off the mark. An interesting fact tailor-made for dinner party conversation is that over half of all pharmaceutical grade alkaloids are derived from crops grown in Tasmania. How do we know this? Because stoned wallabies have started making crop circles.

As you may know, 1 of my all-time favorite websites is I Can Haz Cheezburger , where it’s imagined what cats are really saying. The picture above got me thinking about the 2 extremes of handling pain. There are those who do too little for themselves, and who let their pain control their activities. And there are those who do too much, who won’t “give in,” who have problems accepting help. The picture above certainly illustrates the “do too little” tendency. Readers, which side of the see

I decided today to build an ark. I mean, with the rain falling constantly (now close to 2 inches in less than 24 hours!) and the fact that I am living in my rain boots, I figure the safest bet is to just build the darn ark and they will come. Hubby and I decided to go out today to do our holiday shopping (the USA 4th of July Independence Day), and we brought Arnie with us. He was so glad to get out of his crate, where he has been living since Greta went into heat. He was an angel in the car an

by Andyl Hannerl A lot of reasons are there for a dog to become aggressive towards other dogs. Some dogs can be fearful or nervous around other dogs, in some cases a dog is trying to prove that he is the dominant dog or just because the dog is being territorial. There are also some cases that a dog can be taught by the owner to be aggressive rather than be socially interactive with other dogs. Other dogs are simply being protective of their masters who make them aggressive in a way and
